Privacy Policy

RepoFinder (repofinder.xyz) is an independent service. Contact: hello@repofinder.xyz.

A. Data stored only on your device (never sent to us):

• Recent searches — stored in localStorage. Last 8 searches only.
• Search result cache — stored in sessionStorage. Auto-expires in 10 minutes.
• Display preferences — stored in localStorage. Sort mode, filter state.

B. Data sent to third-party services:

• GitHub API (github.com) — your browser sends your search query directly to GitHub's public search API. No credentials are transmitted.
• Our AI proxy (/api/ai) — your question text and public GitHub metadata for up to 30 results are sent to our server-side proxy. The proxy forwards this to an AI provider (OpenRouter). We do not persist these inputs or outputs to any database.
• Cloudflare Web Analytics (optional, cookieless) — if enabled, anonymous page-view data. No cookies, no fingerprinting, no cross-site tracking.

• No user accounts, no sign-up, no login
• No server-side database storing your searches
• No advertising cookies or tracking pixels
• No sale of your data to third parties
• No personal data collection beyond what GitHub and Cloudflare receive
• No use of your data to train AI models

RepoFinder does not set any first-party cookies. We use localStorage and sessionStorage for client-side persistence — these are not transmitted to any server.

Because we store no personal data server-side, there is nothing for us to delete on our end. All data stored by RepoFinder lives in your own browser and can be removed at any time:

• Click "Clear my data" on the home page to remove all RepoFinder localStorage and sessionStorage entries.
• Or use your browser's native storage clearing.
